MSU Law Grads Achieve Significant Milestones

MSU Law recognizes its graduates for the successes they have achieved in their law careers. Here are recent accomplishments of MSU Law graduates.

Jake HendricksJake W. Hendricks (’23) has joined the law firm of Plunkett Cooney as an associate attorney in the Torts & Litigation and Governmental Law practices. Practicing in the Bloomfield Hills office, he represents employers and retail clients. In the Governmental Law practice, he represents municipalities in both state and federal courts.

Lorin SubarLorin Subar (’87) has been admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Subar is Associate Counsel for Todd Tracy Law Firm in Dallas, Texas.

Caleb MarkerMoving up the ranks at Zimmerman Reed, Caleb Marker (’07) has been named Managing Partner of the firm. Based in Los Angeles, he has been instrumental in opening and growing the west coast operations. His practice focuses on consumer protection, employment, and privacy cases. Mr. Marker is credited with creating the plaintiff arbitration practice and bringing to trial the first merits arbitration in the U.S. against a ridesharing company. He has also introduced various technological advancements at the firm.

Chase StoeckerChase Stoecker (’11) has been named the 2023-24 Membership Vice-chair of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Cannabis Law and Policy General Committee. Of Counsel in the Fort Lauderdale office of McGlinchey Stafford, Mr. Stoecker’s practice includes employment and litigation counsel with a focus on Cannabis and Financial Services industries. He has made several cannabis presentations around the country and been published in multiple publications. The goal of the ABA Committee is to produce leading educational programming and informative publications.

Nikolas SpilsonMSU Law recent grad, Nikolas Spilson (’23) has joined the associate class of Faegre Drinker law firm. After an immersive six-week development program focused on practical skills and training and practice-focused substantive training, Mr. Spilson made the list of the firm’s 2023 first-year associate class. He will be involved in the firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice.

John FraserJohn W. Fraser (’15) has been selected by Dykema law firm’s Executive Board to join the firm. Based in Lansing, he will serve as the Michigan Team Leader of Dykema’s Cannabis Practice. Dykema’s news says Mr. Fraser “often serves as the legal ‘quarterback’ for a cannabis business’s myriad of issues as part of a multidisciplinary legal team.
