MSU Women Entrepreneurs Pitch Business Ideas to MSU Law Professor

Well-known for championing entrepreneurs, MSU Law Professor Anne Choike shared her expertise while serving as a judge for a Women in Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition. The MSU Women in Entrepreneurship hosted the competition featuring eleven MSU students with innovative business ideas.

As founding Director of the Equitable Entrepreneurship & Innovation Law Clinic and an Associate Clinical Professor of Law at the College of Law, Professor Choike mentors Clinic law students who are providing legal services to help entrepreneurs across Michigan and position their ventures for sustainability and equity. The Clinic has been instrumental in supporting innovative ventures get off the ground and stay viable.

The pitch competition provides aspiring women entrepreneurs with an opportunity to present their business concepts and receive valuable insights from experienced industry professionals. As a judge, Professor Choike evaluated each young entrepreneur on their innovation, creativity, and viability of the business idea. Following the presentations, Professor Choike and the four other judges selected the top three winners who were awarded monetary prizes.

“Opportunities like this pitch competition provide tremendous advantages for students with an entrepreneurial spirit,” said Professor Choike. “It was great to see so many young women chasing the dream. That’s where it all begins. It starts with a dream, an idea, for creating something great that makes a difference in their communities and beyond. This passion needs to be nurtured to ensure these students have the tools and direction to make their innovations a reality.”
