MSU Law Showed an Abundance of Spirit During Spirit Week

MSU College of Law got into the spirit last week with students, faculty, and staff wearing their COL spirit in a week of fashion statements. Initiated by the Student Bar Association (SBA) and its Wellness Committee to add some fun ahead of exams, Spirit Week featured a different clothing theme each day.

“The Wellness Committee focuses on improving students’ wellbeing,” said Ally Hammond (’24), SBA Wellness Committee Chair. “Our goal was to alleviate stress through fun ‘Spirit Days” by creating an atmosphere for self-expression and creativity for the MSU COL community.”

Here are what a few students thought about Spirit Week:

“My friend and I coordinated outfits for today,” Taya Lee said, elaborating on her choice of holiday attire. “It was just a fun little thing to do.”

“PJs and slippers are my go-to College of Law fit,” Justine Brabaw shared. “Lots of people are having fun with it [PJ Day], so that’s nice to see.”

“I haven’t seen many outfits, but I’m hoping for something cool,” said Marina Fuga. “Who knows, maybe someone will come along in full Sparty gear.”

It’s fun to participate,” said Mahek Khangura.

Kaitlyn Tracy and Hannah Makki said, “It was cute to see people get involved with Spirit Week.”

“It was nice to have an outfit picked out for the week without having to plan it,” Sarah Sander said.

“Spirit week’s been fun. I’ve got something fun planned for tomorrow [Ugly Sweater Day],” Blake Querio said. “It’s a great way to collaborate with your peers.”
