MSU Law Demonstrates Commitment to Public Service at Archer Gala

An MSU College of Law contingent, led by Dean Linda Sheryl Greene, joined the Michigan legal community for the 19th Annual Dennis W. Archer Public Service Award Gala. The highlight of the event was presentation of the 2023 Archer Award to Honorable Bridget Mary McCormack, former Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice and President and CEO of the American Arbitration Association-International Centre for Dispute Resolution.

A sponsor of the annual event, the MSU Law delegation engaged with the honoree and the legal community across Michigan. Joining Dean Greene in representing MSU Law were Chief of Staff Frank Aiello, Assistant Dean for Diversity and Equity Services Mary Ann Ferguson, Assistant Dean for Career Development Alana Glass, Senior Director of Development Jacqueline Kontry, and Director of Pipeline Programming, Outreach, and Education Audra Foster.

The Dennis W. Archer Public Service Awards recognize attorneys and jurists “who exemplify the ideal of the law as public service. Proceeds will fund free legal clinics and community outreach programs.” The event is hosted by the Detroit Bar Association Foundation, which presents the Archer award annually to the “the best of the best of Michigan’s legal profession—extraordinary lawyers and judges who have established careers dedicated to the betterment of both our profession and our community.”
