Dean Greene and Dean Ferguson Attend Prestigious Award Ceremony in Detroit

Linda Sheryl Greene, Dean of Michigan State University College of Law, and Mary Ann Ferguson, MSU Law Dean and Founder of the Diversity & Equity Services Office (DESO) had the opportunity to attend a prestigious award ceremony at the Detroit Yacht Club last Wednesday.

Reginald M. Turner. JR, a distinguished attorney in Michigan, was the recipient of the Dennis W. Archer Public Service Award.

The Detroit Bar Association Foundation recognizes a lawyer or judge who exemplifies the ideal of the law as public service. The foundation has presented the award since 2003 to Michigan lawyers and judges who have dedicated their careers to the betterment of the profession and the community.

Turner represented corporate and governmental clients in litigation regarding commercial, employment, labor, class action, and public policy matters.

He served as President of the American Bar Association from 2021-2022. He has served as the State Delegate for Michigan in the ABA House of Delegates, and as chair of the ABA House of Delegates Rules & Calendar Committee, the Committee on Issues of Concern to the Profession, and the Committee on Credentials and Admissions. Turner is also a past chair of the ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession and the Commission on the Lawyer’s Role in Assuring Every Child a Quality Education
