  • Biography

    Dr. Mbabazi is currently working in several countries in Africa to enhance policies and regulatory frameworks governing science, technology, and innovation (STI) as a Research Assistant Professor in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at Michigan State University. She coordinates World Technology Access Program (WorldTAP) activities on regulation, product stewardship, technology transfer and commercialization supporting new emerging science on strategic prerequisites for successful technology commercialization.

    Dr. Mbabazi has over 12 years of experience in agriculture policy, regulations, food safety and technology transfer as it relates to the application of modern biotechnology tools. Her background and experience cover aspects of policy and regulation of agricultural production systems and food regulatory systems in developing countries. She actively interacts with policy makers and other stakeholders from more than 20 national governments in Africa to support collaborative research, outreach and capacity building initiatives in the area of biosafety, biotechnology, technology transfer and commercialization.
