  • Biography

    Mikhail Murshak is experienced in all aspects of intellectual property law specializing in patent and trademark acquisition. His background includes preparation and prosecution of patents in the area of consumer products, computer technology, automotive aerospace, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, sleep technology, and much more. Working with start-up technology based businesses is Mr. Murshak’s primary area of interest. This includes assisting his clients with negotiating terms, reviewing agreements, and due diligence.

    Mr. Murshak grew up in mid-Michigan and attended Michigan State University for Chemical Engineering. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, he earned the Oliver Ellsworth Scholarship to attend law school at the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he also received the CALI award in Law & Economics and the Alvin Pudlin Memorial Award for this work in First Amendment Rights Education.

    Mr. Murshak served as in-house IP Counsel for Reverie, a high-end luxury sleep technology company based in Michigan. As the head IP counsel for Reverie, he drove the company’s IP acquisition strategy for both patents and trademarks, helping secure their position as the most innovative company in the sleep industry. He worked closely with the R&D team and the company leadership to ensure Reverie continued to be the leader in technology and innovation.

    Mr. Murshak got his start in IP as an intellectual property analyst for Pratt & Whitney, managing a patent portfolio for a jet engine innovation strategy group specializing in engine data acquisition architecture. Prior to law school and while earning this degree, he worked as a quality control analyst for Merit Laboratories, an environmental analytical testing facility.
