2021-2022 ISSUE IN FOCUS: CHILDREN IN ALTERNATIVE CARE
Families around the globe struggle to provide food, shelter, and basic education for their children. For millions of children, poverty has been a leading reason for separation and the placement of children in orphanages. Institutions like orphanages should be temporary places of last resort, and family and community-based alternatives should be prioritized. Read our recent Call to action to protect the right to family life and prevent institutionalization for all children, including children with disabilities.
