Diversity

Strength lies in differences, not in similarities.

Stephen R. Covey

What is Diversity?

Diversity refers to human qualities that are different from our own and those of groups to which we belong; but that are manifested in other individuals and groups.*

  • Ethnic
  • Cultural
  • Gender
  • Sexual orientation
  • Age
  • Religion
  • Political ideology

Above all, our mission is to accept, appreciate, and achieve diversity.

We accomplish critical diversity work by serving as leaders on our campus and in the broader legal community: through our annual Diversity Week, bold monthly conversations, speaking up as Spartans, working on the State Bar of Michigan’s Diversity Inclusion Advisory Council, and fostering a pipeline to the legal profession through the Law School Admissions Council.
