MSU Law Adjunct Professors Celebrated at Reception

Several new adjunct professors were welcomed and two were recognized this week at the Adjunct Professor Reception at Michigan State University College of Law.

“MSU Law has a long history of producing exceptional legal professionals who have made significant contributions to society,” Interim Dean Sant’Ambrogio said. “Our adjuncts, with their diverse experiences and expertise, are a large part of this work.”

Kevin Gentry was presented the 2024 Adjunct Professor of the Year Award. This new annual award recognizes an adjunct professor “who goes above and beyond in their teaching, inspires and challenges our students to reach their full potential, and enriches our law school with their dedication and passion,” Interim Dean Sant’Ambrogio said.

Interim Dean Sant’Ambrogio also presented the Lifetime Achievement in Teaching Award to Professor J.D. Winegarden who is retiring in December after 23 years at MSU Law.

“Your unwavering commitment, innovative teaching methods, and profound influence on our students and colleagues has left a lasting legacy,” he said in presenting the award.
