There is no secret that the Barristers’ Ball is the biggest party of the year at Michigan State University College of Law.

This year’s ticket sales have proved that with 472 tickets sold on the first day out of 500.

“I had to close the website to make sure it didn’t sell out overnight,” said Bailey Berg, ’24, chair of Barristers’ Ball Committee - Student Bar Association. “We had to make sure to stop it from overselling to make sure we could cover those tickets.”

This annual event is known to most as, “law school prom”, a night where law students and their dates can dress nicely, enjoying music and dancing, and spend a night creating memories with their cohort.

Proceeds benefit the Barristers’ Ball Scholarship, created by the Student Bar Association in 2012 to offset the costs of technology and book expenses for law students.

“Barrister’s is a strong memory for those who choose to go,” said Berg. “It has a lot of associated memories with pictures and hanging with friends to take a night off law school. It’s a good time to reflect on the year you’ve had.”

With recent events that occurred at MSU, SBA President, Emily Rosberg, wants everyone to come and have a good time as this is the time to be together and enjoy one another.

“Despite everything that has been going on, law students are looking forward to having a space to gather and celebrate with community during this time”

This year’s ball will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at the Eagle Eye Golf and Banquet Center in Bath Township, MI. For more information about the event, e-mail msulawbarristersball@gmail.com.
