Professor Alvin Storrs Appointed Chair of Dean Search Committee

EAST LANSING, MI – Michigan State University College of Law Acting Dean Cliff Thompson announced today the search for a new dean of MSU Law has begun with the formation of the Dean Search Committee and appointment of its Chair, Professor Alvin Storrs.

In addition to Professor Storrs, the Dean Search Committee includes Professors Mary Bedikian, Melanie Jacobs, Michael Lawrence, Kathy Payne, and Chuck Ten Brink, Senior Associate Dean Cynthia Lee Starnes, Dean Karen Klomparens of the MSU Graduate School, second-year law student Cherise Teasley, and Charles Lawler, ‘04.

“Our Committee is dedicated to making a thorough search for qualified, successful candidates,” Professor Alvin Storrs, chair of the Dean Search Committee, said. “Most importantly, we are dedicated to gaining a true leader with innovative ideas and a deep fondness for MSU Law as our new dean.”

The Dean Search Committee has made a nationwide call for applications, and will evaluate the candidates and make initial selections to be approved and further reviewed by the MSU Law Faculty, the Provost of MSU, and the MSU Law Board of Trustees.
