The Michigan State University College of Law Journal of Medicine and Law presents:

Living with Terminal Illness:
Should Adolescent Minors Make Decisions at the End of Their Lives?

Friday, February 7, 2014
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MSU Law, Castle Board Room
648 N. Shaw Lane
East Lansing, Michigan 48824

This symposium will examine whether mature children’s voices should be included in decisions involving their own end-of-life medical care in the context of terminal illness. Panelists from varying perspectives will discuss the ethical challenges presented by mature children’s medical decision-making power, how the law could incorporate mature children into the decision-making process, and the competing interests between the physician, the family, and mature children.
