  • Biography

    Professor Bommarito joined the MSU Law faculty in Fall 2013, where he is Adjunct Professor of Law and Head of Research at Reinvent Law Laboratory.  Professor Bommarito founds, builds, consults for, operates, and advises financial services and legal services startups and businesses.  Together with Professor Katz,  he co-teaches Legal Anayltics a first of its kind course that exposes machine learning and other advanced analytics topics to law students.

    He is well-published in law reviews and scientific journals including Virginia Tax Review, Journal of Legal Education, Artificial Intelligence & Law, Quantitative Finance and Physica A. His work has been highlighted in a number of media outlets including the New York Times, Wired, Vox, Slate Magazine, Huffington Post and ABA Journal.  Professor Bommarito holds an M.S.E in Financial Engineering, M.A. in Political Science, and B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan where he was an NSF-IGERT fellow at the University of Michigan Center for the Study of Complex Systems.
