  • Biography

    Monte L. Falcoff is a registered patent attorney and principal in the Troy, Michigan office of Harness Dickey, where he counsels clients ranging from large, multi-national companies to start-ups and universities. His practice includes managing patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret portfolios; providing clearance opinions; negotiating licensing agreements; litigating intellectual property in courts around the world; and preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications in the U.S. and abroad.

    Mr. Falcoff holds a B.S. in Engineering from Michigan State University and a J.D. from Wayne State University. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Falcoff serves on Michigan State University’s College of Engineering Alumni Advisory Board as well as on the Wayne State University College of Engineering, Anderson Entrepreneur Institute Advisory Board. Prior to his current legal career, Mr. Falcoff was a Marketing Manager, Patent Coordinator and Systems Engineer at United Technologies Corporation.

  • Courses

    Intellectual Property Practicum
    This class will revolve around the skills that young intellectual property attorneys are often forced to learn on the job while in practice as taught by practicing attorneys. Classes may involve lecture or class exercises as the topic dictates. The focus of the practicum will vary depending on practicing attorney availability. Assignments will encompass many types of topic-appropriate readings, including cases, practitioner guides, and CLE materials. Students are recommended to have taken either Patent Law, Intellectual Property Survey, or Patent Application Drafting.
