Fall 2022 Incoming Class - Admitted Student Checklist
TO DOs
- Stay up-to-date by regularly checking here.
- Create a NetID (using your PID/PAN located in the Guide to Financing your MSU Legal Education document within your Admit Packet).
- Review your Financial Aid packaging in StuInfo (you will be able to log in to StuInfo after creating your NetID). Questions about your financial aid? Contact ofalaw@msu.edu.
- Send your official transcript showing conferral of your degree directly from your undergraduate (and graduate, if applicable) institution to LSAC. If you are taking summer classes to finish your bachelor’s degree, please fill out and return this Verification of Pending Graduation form (PDF) to the Office of Admissions.
- Complete Enrollment Pledge (if not already completed)
- Secure Housing
- Purchase University Health Insurance (if necessary)
- Join "2022 MSU Law Incoming Class" Facebook Group
- Join "2022 MSU Law Incoming Class" GroupMe
MID to LATE SUMMER TO DOs
- Secure parking/bus passes, on-campus/off-campus meal plans
- Complete all Foundations of Law assignments - See Syllabus for readings.
- Buy books and check for first assignments before Foundations Week (information to be provided later in the summer).
- Complete Technology Training (i.e. Law School Tech, Lexis, and Westlaw) prior to Immersion Week (information included in D2L Online Orientation)
- Amend application (if necessary)

ONLINE ORIENTATION
Your required Online Orientation will open August 1. Once open, it will populate to your courses on the D2L site as “College of Law Online Orientation”.This required orientation includes vital information to ease your transition into law school, as well as college and university policies and procedures that you will need to be aware of during your first year and beyond.
If you did not use D2L at your previous institution and would like to get an early start with the platform, the student D2L training course contains video tutorials covering the most commonly used aspects of the D2L Learning Environment.

SECTION ASSIGNMENTS
You can now view your section assignment in your Student Information System (SIS). The class schedules for each section (one through three) can be viewed here.
While not frequent, it is possible that your section assignment could be changed. Therefore, please do not purchase books or make other outside scheduling decisions until you are notified that schedules are truly set and it is safe to do so (after August 1).
