This webinar will offer expert advice to first- and second-year college students who are considering law school. Our two pre-law advisor presenters - one from a large, public flagship university and one from a small, elite private college - will address the following topics:

  • Courses and skills that can provide a strong foundation for success in law school
  • Recommendations for learning about legal careers
  • Suggestions for learning about the costs and returns of a legal education
  • A timeline for preparing for and applying to law school
  • Strategies to position yourself for admission and scholarship opportunities at the law schools of your choice

Following the presenters' remarks will be a Q and A segment during which time participants may ask questions.

Our Expert Presenters

Diane CurtisDiane Curtis is director of pre-law advising and senior lecturer in political science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In the course of 10-plus years of pre-law advising, she has counseled thousands of students regarding law school preparation and law as a career choice. Prior to her current position, she worked as a public interest attorney and co-taught the legal services clinic at Western New England University School of Law. Ms. Curtis is a graduate of New York University School of Law and is an active member of the Northeast Association of Prelaw Advisors.

Meghan GodorovMeghan Godorov has counseled Mount Holyoke College students and alumnae in all phases of the law school exploration and planning process. In addition to her work as a career services professional at Mount Holyoke, she is an independent career coach offering guidance on topics such as networking, resume and cover letter preparation, and career planning. Ms. Godorov earned a Master's in Education in Student Affairs and College Licensure from Kutztown University.
