As an associate for Icenogle Seaver Pogue, Shannon Smith Johnson says she learns something new every day. The firm as general counsel for municipal districts and highway authorities in Colorado on contracting, state compliance and issuing bonds.

“Being able to work on so many different projects in so many different areas of the law makes me feel like I’ve learned something new almost every day I get home from work,” she said.

As a student at MSU Law, Shannon was involved with the Michigan State Law Review, but emphasized that the sheer variety of activities gives students an edge. “The array of different extracurricular activities as well as the caliber of those programs is truly an advantage to any student,“ she said. “The depth of the academic programs is definitely of benefit too.”
