"I believe that any student who visits would find MSU Law as welcoming as I have. My experience has been so positive that I elected to move from my home state to attend.”

Amanda O’Boyle was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. “I have always had a great interest in law and worked in a solo practice for four years prior to attending law school,” she said.

To prepare for LSAT, Amanda studied old editions of LSAT books for several months and took an LSAT prep class. “I began my studies and preparation for law school approximately two years before attending,” she said. “I took pre-law classes and, in general, took my studies seriously since I knew my GPA would be important when applying for law school.”

Amanda chose to attend MSU College of Law because she appreciated the devotion of the faculty, the welcoming campus environment, and the scholarship opportunities. In particular, the Admitted Candidate Visit Program helped solidify her decision. “I had a chance to meet professors and understand how they interact with students. After I spoke to current students about their experiences, I knew I would fit into the student body.”

Amanda also attended several webinars, which she said provided her with an abundance of information. Before her 1L year, Amanda had already interacted with a variety of people at MSU Law, including tour guides, admissions counselors, financial aid advisors, and current students. “Each experience has been great,” she said. “I either promptly received answers to my questions or was directed to the exact person I needed. There is no shortage of knowledge within the College of Law as to its internal and external functions.”
