“MSU Law lays a strong foundation of first-year classes that made studying for the bar easier."

Philip Clark is an associate with Thrun Law Firm in East Lansing. He works in employment, municipal, and education law. Philip explained that working with school districts comes with a host of issues that people tend not to anticipate—issues that are also ultimately rewarding. “From student accommodation plans to school bond sales, my firm has a direct fortifying impact on the state's education system and the lives within it,” he said.

Philip credited his fundamentals in legal education as instrumental in his success. “My first-year legal writing course exposed me to the rigors and rewards of constant editing and drafting,” he said. “Also, my externship with Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office gave me practical experience in the legal field.”

When asked why he chose MSU Law, Philip said the school offers something for everyone. “MSU Law lays a strong foundation of first-year classes that made studying for the bar easier,” he said. “MSU Law also offers a wide range of interesting electives taught by prominent adjunct professors.”
