MSU Law IP Program Ranked Among Top 25 in Nation

Michigan State University College of Law’s intellectual property (IP) program is among the top 25 in the nation, according to Law Street Media. MSU Law was positioned at number 22 out of 67 IP programs in the ranking released this week.

The IP rankings by Law Street Media—a legal media startup for law students and young professionals—measure opportunities for students and the breadth of courses provided by the specialty programs. The 100-point formula used takes into account specialty courses offered (25 points), graduates employed in the specialty (20 points), proximity to subject-relevant employment centers (15 points), networking and extracurricular opportunities in the discipline (15 points each), and how the program is ranked by others (10 points).

“The Law Street Media’s rankings are rigorous and fact-based and highlight MSU Law’s strengths,” said IPIC Director Adam Candeub. “They reflect not only the hard work we do here at the College but also the vibrant Michigan IP bar that supports our efforts—and, of course, the achievements of our great students.”
