MSU Law Hosts Presentation on Use of New Technologies for Visual Advocacy

Michigan State University College of Law will host Legal Communication & Rhetoric Visiting Scholar Lucy Jewel for a presentation on the opportunities technology presents for visual persuasion at trial.

Professor Jewel, an associate professor of law at the University of Tennessee College of Law, will discuss the impact of technology-based persuasion on jurors, comparisons with traditional persuasion, the interplay of visual persuasion with evidentiary rules, and ethical issues raised by new technologies. Her presentation, “New Possibilities for Visual Advocacy,” will be held in MSU Law’s Castle Board Room at noon on Thursday, December 5, 2013.

The event is sponsored by MSU Law’s Research, Writing, and Advocacy program. It is made possible by support from the Association of Legal Writing Directors through a grant to support the Legal Communication & Rhetoric: Visiting Scholars Grant Program.

Members of the general public are welcome to attend. Visit www.law.msu.edu/rwa/visual-advocacy to register.
