November 29, 2001, East Lansing, MI - The Michigan State University-Detroit College of Law (MSU-DCL) Clinical Program has been approved by the State Bar of Michigan as an agency eligible to receive pro bono contributions from attorneys. The program operates two clinics - the Tax Clinic and the Rental Housing Clinic - in downtown East Lansing. MSU-DCL students working under the supervision of clinic faculty can enhance their legal skills while providing no-cost legal services to taxpayers for whom English is a second language and to low-income tenants and landlords.

The State Bar encourages active members to participate each year in the Bar’s pro bono program by providing no-cost services to low-income individuals and groups or by donating to non-profit programs that provide no-cost legal services.

Additional information about the clinics is available from clinic directors MaryAnn Pierce and Michele Halloran at (517) 336-8088.
