East Lansing, Michigan. - Three faculty members from the Kiev State University of Trade and Commerce including the Dean and the Vice Dean of the law school are visiting the Detroit College of Law at MSU from September 16, 1998 through September 24, 1998. This is part of an international trade commerce program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The primary purpose of the Ukrainian professors visit is to observe how American law schools prepare students for the legal profession, including curriculum, teaching methods, and classroom dynamics. They will also be interacting with legal professors and practicing lawyers to learn more about their roles and responsibilities.

Detroit College of Law at MSU Dean, Jeremy T. Harrison, has been working with the Department of Commerce for some time with this program. This past summer he spent three weeks at Kiev State University observing students and professors in their law school. He is very enthusiastic about the program "We are very eager to share information about our teaching system and show our teaching facilities to our guests from Kiev State."

Representing Kiev State University of Trade and Commerce are Ljudmila Viktorvna, Natalia Krasilich, and Serafyma T. Rizuichenko.

The three visiting professors will be answering DCL students’ questions regarding law school and legal policy in the Ukraine at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 1998. Members of the media are welcome to attend.
