Michigan State University is a world-class educational institution of more than 43,000 students and is located in East Lansing, Michigan, itself a community of 50,000 people. Just a few miles down the road is the Michigan State Capitol building, located in neighboring Lansing, Michigan. Within two hours’ drive of the city, students can be in Detroit, Michigan’s largest urban area, or on the scenic shores of Lake Michigan or Lake Huron.

East Lansing is a mix of small-town charm and cosmopolitan diversity and sophistication. With nightlife, shopping, and excellent dining all within a few minutes’ walk of campus, the world is at the doorstep of the students of Michigan State University College of Law.

Living on Campus

Students bringing their families with them to East Lansing, or looking for apartment-style living may live in the Cherry Lane apartments on campus, just a short bus ride from MSU Law.

Students living alone and looking for a convenient location may live right across the street from the College in Owen Hall, a graduate facility of one-bedroom units with an excellent cafeteria featuring foods from all over the world.

Student Life

Michigan State University and Michigan State University College of Law are home to more than 4,000 international students from more than 125 countries. Student groups representing most cultures of the world can be found on campus, and all welcome new members. A variety of religious and cultural institutions are within a short walk of MSU Law.
