IP and Communications Law Program Distinguished Speaker Series hosts Professor Jon Garon, Hamline University School of Law. Professor Garon is a leading scholar on IP and internet issues with significant practice experience in these areas.

The intellectual property regimes of copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and publicity rights provide the legal framework for American culture: film, music, TV, news, video games, arts and education. The explosion of social media has stressed these legal systems, transforming the paradigms of both law and culture. This talk will explore the forces shaping the culture we watch, create and enjoy.

The presentation expands on his forthcoming law review, Content, Control and the Socially Networked Film.
