The hotel is located at the heart of Turku by the market square, where restaurants, shops, transportation and entertainment are at your finger tips. Find additional information concerning restaurants and entertainment at your hotel at http://www.hamburgerbors.fi/en

The participants may make their reservation directly to Sokos Hotels Sales Office in Turku by email or phone by 16.6.2008.

When you make the booking please give the code "BTUR80716" or the date and the code CICL Turku 2008.  If your arrival is later than 6 p.m., please guarantee the reservation with a credit card (card number, expiry date and holder).

The room rate includes buffet breakfast, morning sauna with pool and vat. The conference rate is valid for three nights (16-19.7). Please contact the hotel directly for applicable rates, if you wish to extend your stay.

Getting to Turku

You have several alternatives to getting to Turku.

By air

Turku has a small airport, which is located about 15-20 minutes outside the city. Buses (2,50 Euros)  and taxis are available to take you into the city.

By bus/by train

As an alternative to flying to Turku you may want to fly into Helsinki-Vantaa airport just east of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. You should add 3-4 hours to your travel time to get to Turku.

You may take a bus, which leaves from a platform directly outside the international terminal every hour until midnight (less frequent during early morning hours). You may check schedules at www.expressbus.fi. Note that travel time varies between 3-4 hours depending on the number of stops en route. The bus will take you to Turku bus station app. 4 blocks from your hotel. Taxis are available.

You may take a local bus (2,50 Euros, Finnair bus 6 euros) into Helsinki (30 minutes), which will let you off at the main railway station. Trains to Turku leave every hour on the hour from early morning ‘til 10 p.m. The trip takes 2 hours and will take you to Turku main railway station app. 5 blocks from your hotel. Taxis are available.

The price of both alternatives roundtrip is about 40-70 Euros.

By boat

If you are looking to see more of Scandinavia and will be traveling through Stockholm, Sweden, you can take a cruise ship to Turku. The two main operators are Viking line http://www.vikingline.fi/index.asp?lang=en and Silja line http://www.tallinksilja.com/en/ both of which leave Stockholm every morning and every evening. Since you will be traveling during peak season prices vary and you will want to reserve tickets well in advance.

To enjoy the beautiful archipelago you may want to choose the morning boat, which comes into Turku at sunset. The evening boat will arrive in Turku early in the morning.

A local bus (2,50 Euros) takes you from the harbor to the market square and stops right at the door of your hotel. 

By car

Turku is easily accessible by car from any part of the country. Highway 1 connects Turku and Helsinki, a trip that takes app. 2,5 hours. Renting a car in Finland is fairly expensive and a car is generally not needed in the city. To avoid unpleasant surprises keep in mind that gas prices are listed per liter (0,26 gallons).
