MSU Law Intellectual Property & Communications Law Program (IPCLP) is for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the fastest growing legal specialty or who want to be a part of learning about today’s cutting edge issues.
MSU Law succeeds at teaching this emerging legal specialty as evidenced by its top ranking in U.S. News and World Report among Big Ten universities and 17th ranking among all intellectual property programs in the nation. This is due to IPCLP’s innovative curriculum, international approach, distinguished faculty, and integration with MSU.
IPCLP is a comprehensive set of curriculum and programs designed to challenge and prepare students to succeed in these rapidly growing fields. The Program offers innovative curriculum, two master’s programs, study abroad and externship opportunities, and dual degrees. It also hosts groundbreaking symposia, lectures and career panels; hosts distinguished speakers and internationally recognized experts; supports the student-edited Entertainment and Sports Law Journal; and publishes an Occasional Papers Series.
Classes are taught by scholars who have practiced in the field. Beyond their many academic and professional accomplishments, they are accessible to students. At the Law College, faculty and students interact in an intellectually stimulating academic community. Students also have the opportunity to work with faculty on cutting-edge scholarship involving intellectual property and communications law, pushing the boundaries and tackling important questions in these emerging areas of specialization.
Interested students are welcome to talk with our faculty before deciding to accept the challenges and opportunities IPCLP has to offer.
