Campus Security and Alerts

Safety is important to Michigan State University College of Law, and each member of the campus community - students, faculty, and staff – are encouraged to take an active role in preventing and reporting incidents that jeopardize safety on and around campus.

If an emergency occurs at MSU Law, the Law College administration will send an e-mail to your MSU e-mail account to notify you of the issue and any necessary instructions. Class cancellations are posted on the MSU Law Class Cancellation page; bookmark this link for easy access.

Create an MSU Alerts account to receive notifications about emergencies elsewhere on MSU’s campus. MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon and other MSU administrators also may send occasional e-mails to your MSU e-mail account. Review MSU’s Emergency Situations Policy & Procedure materials.

If you are involved in a safety or theft issue on campus, immediately contact MSU Police and either the Dean's Suite, Office of Student Engagement, or Schaefer Law Library staff. Take a moment now to program the MSU Police phone number 517-355-2221 into your cell phone.
