Biography
Drew Nelson graduated from the University of North Carolina's law school in 2005. As a joint-degree student, he also received a Masters in Public Policy from Duke University in 2005. During law school, Mr. Nelson served as an Executive Editor of the UNC Law Review and directed the journal's student writing program.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Nelson practiced with the commercial litigation group at McGuireWoods, where he represented clients at both the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Nelson also served as an Assistant General Counsel at NC State University. At NC State, he advised administrators and faculty on liability, constitutional, and employment issues, and managed litigation for the university.

Outside of MSU, Mr. Nelson enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennifer Nelson, a fellow in the University of Michigan's Department of Surgery, and his daughter, Laine Nelson.
