  • Biography

    Mark Bank’s legal career has focused on complex matrimonial matters for more than 25 years. Every year since 2009, he has been named as one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in Michigan” by Michigan Super Lawyers. Annually, he has been listed by his peers in Best Lawyers in America as “one of the top family law attorneys” in the country, and in Michigan Super Lawyers as one of the premier family law attorneys in Michigan. He has been named Best Lawyers® 2014-2015 Detroit-Family Law “Lawyer of the Year” as well as Best Lawyers® 2016-2017 Troy-Family Law “Lawyer of the Year”. Mr. Bank is also a Fellow in the nationally distinguished American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and he is an elected Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, which only has 100 members nationwide.

    Since 1998 Mr. Bank has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Michigan State University College of Law where he teaches Domestic Relations and Matrimonial Practice. He previously served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law where he taught Family Law.

    Matrimonial Practice
    (Formerly DCL 532) This course provides the practical knowledge and skills necessary to develop expertise in handling matrimonial matters from initial client contact through each step of the proceedings, including Motion Practice and Temporary Orders, Discovery, Custody, Equitable Distribution, Support, Negotiations/Settlement, Mediation, and Settlement Drafting.
