  • Biography

    Erica G. Brown is an active member of the State Bar Associations of Michigan and California and has been working as an attorney in the area of family law since 2009. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, earning CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Excellence in Defamation, Privacy & Publicity Law and Excellence in Employment Law. Ms. Brown was admitted as a member of the State Bar of California in 2009 and began her practice of the law in Los Angeles, working for a distinguished family law firm.

    As a native of Metropolitan Detroit, earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Ms. Brown decided to return home to be a part of the community in which she grew up, and advance her career near family members. Since returning to Michigan in 2013, Ms. Brown has continued her passion for the law by zealously advocating for her clients in the family law field.

    Ms. Brown is a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the Young Lawyers Association of Michigan, and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.

    (Formerly DCL 532) This course provides the practical knowledge and skills necessary to develop expertise in handling matrimonial matters from initial client contact through each step of the proceedings, including Motion Practice and Temporary Orders, Discovery, Custody, Equitable Distribution, Support, Negotiations/Settlement, Mediation, and Settlement Drafting.
