Michael G. Morris

Returning to the MSU-DCL board is Michael G. Morris, 81, chairman, president and chief executive officer of the Northeast Utilities system.
Morris earned bachelors and masters degrees in science from Eastern Michigan University (EMU), and graduated cum laude from the Detroit College of Law. Active in a wide range of community and professional boards and organizations, Morris is recognized as a national leader in the energy arena, having served previously as president and chief executive officer of Consumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy, and as president of CMS marketing. He also founded, and served as president of, ANR Gathering Company, one of the first gas marketing companies in the U.S.
A member of the Michigan Bar Association, Morris previously served on the MSU-DCL board. He is also a past member of the Institute of Gas Technology, EMU Foundation, Olivet College Leadership Advisory Council, and the Library of Michigan Foundation.
He currently serves on the U.S. Department of Energys Electricity Advisory Board and the National Governors Association Task Force on Electricity Infrastructure, and is director of more than a half-dozen national and regional nuclear power and gas companies and institutes.
Appointed to the EMU Board of Regents, Morris received the universitys Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1995.

Charles E. Langton

Charles E. Langton, 87, is a new member of the MSU-DCL board. Attorney and president of Langton and Associates, P.C., in Sterling Heights, Michigan, Langton specializes in plaintiff personal injury, automobile negligence and workers compensation.
He also hosts the weekly Charlie Langton Show on WXYT AM 1270, which explores current events, community affairs and local political issues. In addition, he is legal commentator for WWJ News Radio 95 and serves as host for Legally Speaking and Meet the Mayor, two metropolitan Detroit cable television programs. He has won numerous broadcasters and production awards as well as two Distinguished Service Awards from the Macomb County Bar Association.
Langton graduated from Kalamazoo College in 1983, earning undergraduate degrees in theater and education. Currently he serves as a board member for the 52nd District Court Anti-Drunk-Driving Program, Courageous Decisions,® and as a board member for the American Cancer Society-Macomb County Section. Michigan Governor John Engler recently appointed him to the Quarter Commission to help design the states commemorative quarter.
