Swearing In Ceremony

Monday, November 11th, 2013

The ceremony will be hosted at MSU College of Law in the 4th Floor Moot Court Room. Judge Annette J. Berry, ’88, will be presiding.
6:00 p.m.
There will be a champagne toast and dessert reception immediately following the ceremony on the 3rd Floor of the Law College in the Castle Board Room.

Submit Paperwork to Ingham County Circuit Court

As promptly as possible, but no later than the end of the day on Thursday, November 7th, make sure your letter from the Board of Law Examiners beginning with, “To The Courts of Record of Michigan,” is filed with the Circuit Court clerk (this is the letter that certifies you).

Please include the following information:

  1. Write on the back of the original letter:
    1. Your name as you would like it to appear on your license
    2. Address and telephone number
    3. Sponsor name
    4. Indicate that “Michigan State University College of Law” is the location where you will be sworn in.
    5. Honorable Judge Annette J. Berry is the judge administering the oath
  2. Make a copy for your records. You must submit the original to the court.
  3. Mail or present with your letter a check for $25.00 for the filing fee made payable to the Ingham County Circuit Court:

Depending on the number of guests attending, you may be limited to 2 guests in the Moot Court Room for the ceremony. Overflow seating for the ceremony will be available in the Castle Board Room with a live feed of the ceremony. Please inform of us any special accommodations that may be needed for seating and/or other purposes.
