Road Map for Law School: Expert Advice for Those Considering Law School
Individuals who are considering law school (freshmen through seniors, as well as graduates) are invited to join us for this free webinar providing advice and recommendations about exploration, preparation and planning for law school. Topics will include the following:
- Action steps to take as you consider law school
- Courses and skills that can provide a strong foundation for success in law school
- An overview of legal careers and salary information
- Factors relied on when law schools review an application for admission
- A timeline for preparing for and applying to law school
Early registration is encouraged. Following the presenters' remarks will be a 15-minute Q and A session in which webinar participants may ask questions.
Daralyn Gordon Arata serves as pre-law advisor at Kansas State University where she provides assistance to both current students and alumni who are exploring and planning for law school. A member of the Washington, DC and Virginia bars, she earned her JD from the College of William and Mary and an LLM in Tax from George Washington University Law School.
Gregory Shaffer is coordinator of pre-law advising at the University of Maryland College Park, a position he has held since 2003. A graduate of Notre Dame Law School, he practiced law in Washington, DC prior to his appointment at the University of Maryland.
Charles Roboski is assistant dean of admissions and financial aid at Michigan State University College of Law. As dean of admissions he participates in the review of applications for admission and coordinates the awarding of scholarship aid to incoming law students.
