Traveling by Air

Visitors traveling by air frequently choose to fly into Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), which is a 60-75 minute drive by car from East Lansing. A shuttle service from DTW to the MSU campus costs approximately $50 for a round-trip fare and arrives within two hours of departure from DTW. Visitors also may choose fly into the Lansing Airport. Two other airports serving mid Michigan are airports in Flint and Grand Rapids (located 45-60 minutes from East Lansing).

Traveling by Rail or Bus

Passenger rail service is offered by Amtrak between Chicago and East Lansing (and continuing east). The East Lansing Amtrak Station is located on the western edge of campus and is served by CATA bus service. The Amtrak Station also serves as a station for Greyhound and Indian Trails bus service.
