All Majors May Apply
Opinions about which areas of undergraduate study will best equip prospective students for law school and a legal career are quite varied. While there is no specific major or course of study that is required for admission to law school, a broad background in English, history, economics, logic, philosophy, and the sciences is highly desirable. Above all, prospective law students should be well trained in the use of the English language - undergraduate courses that contribute to such mastery are strongly recommended.
Additionally, not more than 10 percent of the credits presented by an applicant for admission should be non-theory courses or courses without intellectual content of substantial value. No credit toward the law school curriculum will be granted by way of advanced standing or required course satisfaction for any undergraduate or graduate (non-law school) course work.
