MSU College of Law makes its home in East Lansing, where you will find a unique combination of an historic small-town setting with cosmopolitan sophistication. An eclectic mix of restaurants, retail shops, art galleries and entertainment give downtown East Lansing an upbeat yet relaxed atmosphere.

East Lansing is the arts, cultural and recreational center of mid-Michigan. Numerous large-scale street festivals, outdoor concerts and special events entertain people of all ages. Twenty-six city parks, from neighborhood parks to the Family Aquatic Center and national competition-level Soccer Park and Softball Park, provide a range of recreational opportunities. Huge green areas and the Red Cedar River create a picturesque setting for the MSU campus. Just a few miles away, the busy city of Lansing, Michigan’s state capital, offers law students a special opportunity to observe and participate in state government.

Ideally placed in the center of the state, East Lansing is about an hour's drive from Detroit and four hours from Chicago, and is within striking distance of Michigan's spectacular lakes and northern woods. Michigan natives and new residents alike enjoy a wealth of recreational opportunities year-round, including boating, hiking, camping, cross-country and downhill skiing, and snowmobiling.
