Description: Introduces the EU substantive law of constitutional significance. Coverage will include, though not be limited to, such topics as the European Union's path of legal integration; the institutional structure of the EU; the European Union's sources of law and its substantive, temporal and territorial jurisdiction; the fundamental documents of the European Union including its (nearly adopted) "Constitution"; the main substantive principles underlying EU Law and the role of EU law in the domestic law of Member states; enlargement of the European Union and options of its institutional reform. A student may not take both this course and European Union Law.
