About MSU College of Law

Michigan State University College of Law is a dynamic school with a proud reputation for excellence. MSU Law students are challenged by the rigor of our academic program and are prepared to enter the legal profession with tangible, practice-ready skills.

As a college integrated with a world-class university, MSU Law offers students the personal attention often associated with private legal education combined with the opportunities of an internationally known, research university. The academic programming is enhanced by dual degree options, certificates and concentrations, externships/internships, and clinical programs designed to connect theory with practice and provide students with academic knowledge along with hands-on experience.

MSU Law faculty is composed of first-rate scholars who offer an exciting learning environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching. They strive to ensure that all students are provided with the tools to succeed in any legal environment. Our faculty hails from the ranks of established and accomplished attorneys, widely respected scholars, and the most promising newly credentialed faculty candidates. Our distinguished professors are also very accessible to students. Their offices are located close to lecture halls so after class, professors use what is learned in the classroom as an impetus for further discussion.

The College makes its home on the beautiful MSU campus set in the heart of East Lansing, Michigan–the arts, cultural, and recreational center of mid-Michigan. Everything students need for their studies is located in one building–surrounded by the largest continuous campus in the country. MSU Law is also four miles away from the State's Capitol, which provides a connection to the legislature and Supreme Court for Michigan.
