Michigan

The Great Lakes State

If you have yet to experience “Pure Michigan,” be sure to carve out time from your law school studies to explore the Great Lakes State.

Four distinct seasons offer something for everyone—study breaks on the beach, fall color tours, winter skiing, and springtime festivals. Michigan boasts the world’s longest freshwater coastline and more than 11,000 inland lakes. Spend a day exploring the state’s 19 million acres of woods, or enjoy a taste or two at one of Michigan’s wineries.

More than 1,300 miles of bike trails and roadways crisscross the state, connecting vibrant urban centers such as Detroit, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Chicago, and more. Michigan State Law is within 90 minutes of 90 percent of the state’s population, including a wide variety of businesses that partner with the Law College to offer externships and potential employment after your three years of hard work.
