What is your experience with MSU Law?
The professors are always so open and welcoming for students to come to them during office hours, to just drop by with questions about class or to just talk about anything. It really allows you to feel comfortable and more out spoken in class.

Describe your relationship with fellow classmates and faculty.
I have met so many new people the first two years it is difficult to pin down a relationship, but during the time to pick class schedules, classmates always try and see who is going to be taking which class so you always have an opportunity to have a friend to go to for asking questions about the class.

Describe your experience in the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute (TPI) program. How have these contributed to your education or employment?
TPI truly gives you practical experience, and allows for trial and error before your briefs/work product actually count. I am tremendously more confident in my writing ability and feel comfortable drafting motions and more at ease when it comes to oral presentations. This summer especially it was a wonderful feeling to hand in the deposition summaries I was asked to complete to my supervisor and have him compliment me on the format and relay that it would make preparation for trial much simpler.

What does the MSU name mean for your education?
I received my summer internship from an MSU undergrad alumni who still has strong ties and fond memories of East Lansing. Even talking with my fellow law clerk in the office, she talks of how her classes teach towards Texas law while I have a broader base of legal knowledge that appears to have come in handy already this summer. MSU is recognized throughout the country, and to have the name garner recognition allows future employers to feel confident extending that first interview that allows you to get your foot in the door.

What is your advice for prospective students?
The campus, the professors, and fellow classmates really make the law school feel like a comfortable place. It allows you to learn the law while still keeping a social life, which really does allow you to excel in the classroom.
