Peter Carayiannis founded Conduit Law, a new model law firm that specializes in embedding attorneys as in-house counsel with corporate counsel."We provide a full range of business law advice, but always with a focus on the practical, efficient and cost-effective solution to a problem," he said.

The most rewarding part of his job is earning the respect and confidence of a client: "To fill the role of trusted advisor is always a rewarding and satisfying part of being an attorney."  

Carayiannis credits his success to Professor John W. Reifenberg who worked with him on the Journal of International Law (now International Law Review) and Professor Christian who hired Peter as a research assistant. While, Carayiannis took many courses in international law, he also emphasized diversity in learning. “I always made certain to take as many business-related courses as possible as I expected to work in a corporate law setting,” he said.

He advises prospective law students that reading case law and going to class is only part of legal education, but it is also important to look outside the classroom. “The opportunity to work closely with faculty members, participate in strong extra-curricular activities, and enjoy the broader academic community can only help improve the educational experience and the long-term prospects of any student,” he said.

Carayiannis also advises students to enjoy law school and build relationships: “These are formative years and help set you on a career path that can be rewarding, giving you the knowledge and tools to help your clients, help your community, and make a positive difference in the lives of others.”
